I like to try to come up with interesting text effects and also make some seamless kaleidoscope patterns that I call Kristinascopes. Here are a few of them:

Text Effects

Works best using Curlz font.
Open a new image, select your background colour #6666CC and font colour #FFFF00.
Add text, Curlz - Bold - 36 - Antialias yes.
Selections, Modify, Feather 1.
Image,Effects, Chisel 2 - Background Colour.
Now change foreground colour to #C000C0.
Image, Effects, Cutout Uncheck Fill Interior - Shadow Color Foreground colour - Opacity 50 - Blur 0 - Vertical minus 3 - Horizontal minus 3
